Is BMW recharging free?
Charging a BMW isn’t free. At home, the cost depends on the electricity tariff, generally around €0.30/kWh in Belgium. At a public charging station compatible with your BMW, rates vary according to charging speed and operator. The most economical solution is to install a charging at home.

Does the BMW come with a charging cable?
Yes, all electric BMWs come with a type 2 cable, which can be used with most charging points. Some models also include a cable for a household socket (mode 2), useful for occasional recharging. It’s always a good idea to check which accessories are included.

Can I recharge my BMW using a normal wall socket?
Yes, it is possible to recharge your BMW using a conventional household socket. However, this type of recharging is very slow and not recommended for regular use. On average, it takes more than 24 hours to fully recharge, which is not ideal for daily use. When you activate your BMW Chargingaccount, you will receive a personal recharging card. This card enables you to start a charging session at most compatible public charging stations. Simply wave it in front of the charging station reader to start charging.
The card is linked to your account BMW Chargingaccount, enabling centralized billing : all your sessions are grouped together on a single invoice, regardless of the operator of the charge point used.
The BMW Charging app: payment at your fingertips
The BMW Charging application doesn’t just locate charging stations. It also allows you to start a recharge remotelywithout the BMW Charging Card. Once you’ve registered your payment method in the application, you can recharge and pay directly via your smartphone.
It also gives you a complete complete overview of your recharge costs: session history, costs, times and locations. What’s more, it makes it easy to manage your subscription and billing parameters.
