Project summary

Our customer, a building syndicate, asked us to install photovoltaic panels on an apartment block in Gembloux. The aim of this initiative was to create anenergy community, enabling residents to share the energy produced by the solar panels installed on the buildings’ roofs.

Our customer’s needs

The syndicate’s ambition was to develop an energy community using the condominium’s roofs to produce and share solar energy between the various apartments. To realize this project, our customer needed an in-depth analysis of their electrical infrastructure, the condition of the roofs, and the potential yield of photovoltaic panels.

Vectura’s solution

After a detailed analysis of the initial situation, Vectura proposed a tailor-made solution. We recommended the installation of 325 photovoltaic panels on the condominium’s various slate roofs. Our team of experts took into account all technical and logistical aspects to ensure optimal installation.

Timing and progress of the project

The photovoltaic panels were installed in three weeks, followed bya week of electrical work to ensure safe and efficient connection of the panels to the existing infrastructure. Here are the details of the project schedule:

1) Initial analysis :

We began with a comprehensive assessment of the existing electrical infrastructure to ensure its ability to support the addition of photovoltaic panels. Next, a thorough inspection of the slate roofs was carried out to ensure their compatibility and ability to accommodate the solar panels without compromising their integrity. Finally, a detailed analysis of sunlight conditions and roof orientation enabled us to estimate the maximum energy output of the solar panels.

2) Panel installation :

The installation of 325 photovoltaic panels took into account the specific architectural features of slate roofs and complied with current safety standards. Each panel was optimally positioned to maximize energy production.

3) Electrical work :

The photovoltaic panels were integrated into the condominium’s electrical grid, ensuring a secure and efficient connection. Exhaustive tests were then carried out to check that the panels were operating correctly, and to ensure optimum, safe energy production.
